Kissing your baby on the lips? Is it ok?

Me and my husband don't agree on this so I wanted to get opinions

I think it's fine to kiss babies and young children on the lips up until the point where they express being uncomfortable with it.

America is really the only country that is stuffy in this way. In most other parts of the world, mouth kisses and close hugs are not uncommon even as a greeting for friends. I think it's entirely up to YOU as to whether you smooch on baby or not. Congrats!

We don't kiss our children on the lips! My dad and grandmother were raised to do that and every time I leave they try to plant one on me and I'm an adult! I find it so awkward! I know they are my kids but the whole spreading germs thing really freaks me out! All I think about is bacteria!!!!!

My 5 month old will grab our faces and open mouth kiss anywhere, chin, nose, lips. I used to think it was weird to kiss your kid on the lips but now I don't really care as long as you're not creepy about it.

i think people should STOP SEXUALIZING KIDS!!! but if you want to kiss them on the mouth, go ahead its your kid! i have a 3 week old son. since he is so young and his immune system is low i kiss on the cheeks, nose, and forehead. but when hes old enough I see nothing wrong with mouth kisses. however when hes in middle school Itll go back to cheek kisses if he even wants to kiss his mother by then lol. but thats to save him the embarrassment with his friends. if the issue is germs... honey, you need to brush your teeth. you kiss your SO on the mouth and cheek without thinking about germs. a cheek kiss is just as nasty with germs.

My whole Spanish side of the family always cringed seeing this happen out in public. Me being young I thought it was bad because of what my family had put inside my head.. but I have a 4 year old and since he could give me besos my husband and I have always kissed him on the lips. I think just as long as the child feels comfortable then who cares. ☺️🤷🏼‍♀️

I kiss my baby all the time on the lips..i made her, she came from my body, and it's just a natural feeling to me i dunno..im gonna stop when she's one prolly though, I think it's weird when they are older. But my 11 week old gets tons of lip smooches

Yes it's fine. I kiss my stepdaughters on the lips (they started it and they are nowhere close to stopping it lol.) as long as nobody else does it besides me, mom and dad.

I give my daughter kisses on the lips. That's my little creation and she is so affectionate. She will even give me and her father kisses when she wants them. However no one else is allowed. To kiss her on the lips as I don't trust that. Even my little girls grandma (fathers mom) doesn't kiss her on the lips, she kisses the top of her head or her cheeks. But I think it's perfectly fine for me and my boyfriend to give our own child kisses.
