Extra water?

Someone said to me that if im 100% formula feeding, i should be giving my LO extra water on top? Please advise. My little man is 8weeks 2 days.

8 weeks is way too early for water. Babies get all the water they need through the formula. Water is harsh on their kidneys and can cause water toxicity. If your baby seems thirsty give more formula. Water can be given at6 months and only up to 2 oz a day.

That's not true. Your baby at 8 weeks only needs formula. You can talk to your doctor but must doctors tell to introduce water only around 6 months .

Quite a different situation but our premmie is now 6 months adjusted. He's on a continuous formula feed via a pump. 800ml/day. However we do give him small amounts of water down his tube to hydrate. About 35-45ml. But this is all from a dietician' plan - we have medical advice. I'd check with a doctor if I were you, preferably a paediatrician.
