What would you get new/whats okay old

Question

So my older sister had a set of twin boys and saved EVERYTHING for when I had a baby. Once I tell her I'm pregnant she's going to offer me all of the things. The thing is that all of the items are about 10 years old. What items would you be okay having that old and what items would you buy new (or put on registry)? Obviously car seat because they expire but what other things should I get new?8

I would take anything used except a car seat :) everything else can be washed or treated and it saves money. I might buy new bottles/nipples but everything else can be used. The clothes might be a little outdated with style but hey they are free and babies grow so fast.

I don't know, 10 years ago? There's likely items that will be out of date/style. It's great to get hand-me-downs sometimes... but part of the excitement of your first baby is all the new stuff you get to pick out. I personally would want to pick out my own items

Honestly I wouldn't take anything 10 years old. But I also wouldn't put it on a registry either and expect people to buy it.

if it smells weird I won't take it. I bought my crib, mattress, and bassinet new. I won't use a used carseat unless I know who had it. I would take anything else people would give me and if I don't line it I'll pass it on.

Everything except car seat like you said.  And maybe google the Cot to make sure it hadn't been recalled.
