what times babys bedtime?

when baby was younger he ate every 2.5-3 hours, which put him napping around the 7pm hour. which was fine bc of feeding times.we'd do bedtime routine, followed by a 9pm bedtime bottle, followed by bed. ☺

hes now 20 weeks old and eating every 4 hours. and if his 5-6pm nap gets messed up for whatever reason, he's still tired and cranky around the 7pm hour. so I'm stuck with either A) Put him to bed around 7:30pm -OR- B) let him catnap and have him up by 7:30 to get ready for bed at 8:00-8:30. sometimes he's just not tired enough for bedtime tho, if he catnaps.

im wondering if this is his natural sleep rythem time. (7/7:30pm) that is developing.

and maybe we should eliminate the late catnap.

he usually does good with napping, every 2 hours and naps for 1/1.5 hr to 2.5 hours depending on which nap it is.

If this is his natural circadian rhythm developing I don't want to mess that up, pushing him into a later bedtime

maybe we will have to start our bedtime routine a bit earlier.....

since 4 weeks old, we've kept the same routine. A bath, then onto my bed for his musical lullaby hippo, then a massage, Pajamas, put on white noise, and either feed and bed or just bed.

And, if we throw a feeding in there, the whole routine can take up to 45-60 minutes to complete.

he dream feeds at 10:20pm and with a 7pm feed hes not always hungry for a bedtime bottle. (thanks 4 hr eating schedule!!!! lol) 😋

currently he eats Every 4 hours plus the dreamfeed. and he naps at: 9am-10:30, 1:00-3:00, and 5:00-6:00pm

but like I said, If that 5-6pm nap gets cut short, started late, etc. then we're having a meltdown at 7:00pm.

If I can remember correctly, our older kids (13, 10, & 10) went to bed at 8:00pm and slept til 8:00am. I think it was closer to 5 or 6 months old though.
