yeast infection help

I felt a yeast infection coming on on Tuesday afternoon so I bought a 1 Day miconazole treatment, I put it in Tuesday night and here I am on Thursday afternoon still uncomfortable (itchy and swollen)... I'm going to wait a few more days before I call my doctor (the package says to do so if symptoms don't clear within 1-7 days) but I've never had this trouble before. Thankfully I've only had a few of these in my adult life but a one day treatment has always done the trick within one day...
