LO chewing on crib.

Hi everyone,

My 11 month old has begun the stage of chewing his crib. My oldest did this sparingly, but my son has chewed the paint right off of his crib (got him bloodwork done, he's fine). I've gone in to get him after naps& in the morning to find his mouth covered in paint. Well, today I noticed little specks in his bottom left gum. I then notice a bunch more of these dots/specks in the top left gum. I brushed his teeth with his toothpaste unsure of what it was, but the specks didn't go away. Also-he was not uncomfortable or in any pain from this. I freaked thinking its splinters from the wood or paint chips in his gums, but he could care less. I would assume having paint or a splinter in his gums would cause him pain? I'm extremely freaked out right now even though he's completely fine. Will be calling pediatrician & purchasing the crib teething guard things (just found out about them) ; but has anyone experienced anything like this on their child's gums after biting their crib?
