My brother in law & his gf decided to try and have a baby, right after we decided to try. she got pregnant. she just had a baby with another guy, & dont even take care of her! my BIL does!!!!!! ugh! they asked if Id be at the reveal and baby shower but I said no

Honestly your there to support your BIL not her.. So ya its selfish. He shouldn't be punished for stepping up to the plate with raising her child. 
I get it. We have been trying and everyone else around us is getting prego with no problems.. it sucks. sometimes you just gotta put on your big girl smile and bare through it hun.

selfish yes. however I do understand your frustration. go and show your support. being that way isn't going to get you Pregnant any faster. remember happy thoughts.

Yes, and sometimes it is okay. I skipped out on my friends baby shower because I knew i would be an emotional wreck and I didn't want to take away from her special.

Shit like this is very upsetting and if I was in your position I'd totally understand but sometimes you do have to grow up and in this case you should just enjoy it even if you go for a few minuets or a hour or so the thought still is accounted for.. 🙌🏼 goodluck trying to conceive

I mean sometimes being selfish isn't the worst thing in the world.  Gender reveals are so EXTRA and honestly if it's going to cause you heart ache don't go. By the time the shower comes around I'm sure the sting will have worn off a bit and by the time the baby gets here you'll be more then happy to see the little one.  It's not fair that we always have to sacrifice our feelings for someone else.

Update! Today they went to find out the gender, and it was my BIL's first time going back with her. The baby is due in november, and my BIL was with his ex in March, and did not know this girl yet. She told him she was due in January,  and now my MIL is devastated. But I knew I had an off feeling for a reason .
