Preemie or Newborn?

Hello ladies so today at my Drs appointment I found out my baby is still only 5lbs n not seeming to grow anymore I'm 38weeks n 3days. So my Dr has decided to induce me. Will I have to buy preemie clothes or can she wear newborn? Sorry I'm a FTM!!!

I think it's going to depend on the shape of your baby and your actual baby's weight. My doctor told me the weight and size estimate has a very wide margin for error. Don't buy too much premie your baby will grow so fast!

My little bub was born at 38.5 weeks weighing 5lbs 4.5 oz and it took him a good month and a half before he wasn't swimming in nb's

I'd get a few preemie outfits but save your receipts just in case!

Mine was 6lbs 9oz and swam in some newborn clothes but some brands fit great.  Gerber runs a little smaller.  Maybe grab a few preemie outfits but you should be fine with some Gerber newborn onesies

Mayb 2-3 outfits preemi for when he goes home but its only till 7lbs so mostly NB

My bestfriend had her baby early so she was only 5 pounds and it took her a month to fit into newborns lol. I'd buy some of both just in case. Not too many preemies though

My baby was born at 38 +1 weighing 5.9.  He had a preemie sleeper that fit him width wise, but the length was too short (he was 18.5 in long).  We bought him some Gap under 7lbs outfits to start with and he fit just fine in NB clothes around 1 week old.
