strep b positive???

found out todsy at 37 weeks that I'm strep b positive...... I'm trying to stay away from Google, but what does this mean for my labor/delivery, and for my baby? I ready somewhere that it means I'll be in the hospital longer after she's born? please give me y'alls experiences..

They will just give you I.V. antibiotics.  you will be able to have a vaginal delivery if that is what your planning on ❤

I found out Tuesday I was positive for the first time. I'm on baby number 4 so imagine my surprise. like how the hell do I have it now? ugh! my doctor said I would be in the hospital 2 days instead of 1 for them to keep an eye on babes.

It's only antibiotics but you have to let them know as soon as ur admitted to the hospital so they can start treatment right away before giving birth

I was group b strep positive and I had to have 3 doses of antibiotics before I could deliver.

I tested positive with my daughter but not my son. also my cousin tested positive with her daughter but not her son. they give you antibiotics so it's not passed on to baby. I told them eight away when I went in.

I had an emergency c section and happen to be strep b positive too. I was on antimbiotcs for 3 days after and was never told why and I'm not sure if that's normal or not. but all they do is pump you with antibiotics when you go into labor.

Nah, it won't affect your hospital stay on its own. You just get some IV antibiotics. No big deal :)

I had it and they give you an iv and antibiotic before delivery and usually check to make sure all is well with baby I had to stay three days in the hospital but it's not bad and it's very normal esp in pregnant woman some have it some don't
