Worried (*GRAPHIC PICS!!*)

Not lying, pictures are nasty!!

My husband was loving on our dog tonight and noticed that the lump we took him to the vet for had gotten really bad. It looked nothing like this when we took him in and we noticed it because we had shaved him. His fur is back now so we can't see it well as you can see by the pictures. The vet told us it was nothing, just extra cells gathering because of his old age. He said don't worry, but now it looks awful and I'm freaking out!! What should I do? The only other vet in our area has an awful reputation and the one I took him to before gave us bad advice. Idk if I should take him back to that vet or not, but the other vet is awful too. Please help ladies. It had a big ball of scab like stuff flacking off of it.
