please understand that there is a difference between your uterus and vagina! the doctor does not open your cervix during a papsmear. they use a speculum to open your vagina and do a cotton swab of the calls on your cervix, which is the outside part of your uterus that connects to your vagina. iuds pass through the cervix and sit in your vagina. also a tampon cant get lost in your vagina brcause the cervix is at the end of the vagina. at most the tampon will be stuck at the top of your vagina by the cervix.
