induction??

Question

So my due date is Nov 24th.. day after Thanksgiving. My husband just told me he thinks I should be induced because it would be easier.(on him) Our first was born a day early and I had a very quick labor. The idea of being induced just so there isn't a chance of the baby being born on Thanksgiving seems stupid to me. Am I crazy for thinking that? or should I just go along with him and plan for an induction?

I wouldn't plan an induction unless your doctor orders it

I think that's crazy. Unless the doctor says otherwise your body will evict baby when the time is right! Tell hubby after 9 months of you carrying he can suck it up and just be happy for a healthy full term baby. 👍👍

Don't get induced! They tend to go by way slower. I was induced and in labor for 3 days, I've know 3 other people that were induced and heir labor was three days as well.
I promised myself that I would only get induced if medically necessary, my first time was not medically necessary.

Like others have mentioned, being induced is hard work and not worth it if not necessary. I have read of healthier ways to get baby moving earlier than DD with acupuncture, acupressure points to induce labor, and/or also look up the red raspberry tea leaf labor recipe :)

I don't think my doctor would let me to that. Most of the time inductions and c-sections are only if they are medically needed.

Besides, with thanksgiving being a holiday that is on a different date each year, there is a chance your little one's bday will be on thanksgiving at some point.

you can't plan an induction ... it's what's medically necessary. unless you are high risk

I planned my induction and my son was born 11/23/15. My labor was perfection, wasn't scary and long like people say (for me anyway) and I didn't get induced because of a holiday but my sons birthday falls on thanksgiving this year and I love it :) I'm planning my induction for this baby as well (due 11/13) because my hospital is over an hour away and the doctor is concerned we won't make it in time. If I go into labor on my own, so be it. But, planning for now on the induction again.
