Gahh, we're having a girl

Long story short, we wanted a boy. I essentially had everything I wanted planned out. Given I did start a girl plan just in case but the planning was no where near in depth like the boy plan.

On the PLUS SIDE, myself and baby are perfectly healthy and that's the only thing that actually matters :)

I've decided I want the nursery to have a mermaid/ocean theme based on purple and shades of blue/teal... my problem is I'm in love with black furniture and would love the nursery furniture to be that color. I don't think black fits with the theme well. I'm sure white would be a better fit but I'm pretty sure I'll get tired of the white super fast and don't wanna waste money...

What are your thoughts/ideas on nursery furniture and it's color? Does it actually matter or am I too picky?
