Just don't know what to do....

A couple of months ago I was in a car accident. Not our fault, we had 3 kids in the back seat and my fiancé and I up front. The guy ran a red light and TBoned our car, I was seriously hurt but everybody else was fine thank god. The guy that hit us was driving distracted but to top it off he's the principle at a local school. (The crash hasn't got to the media yet nor has the lawsuit) I see his face and his name everywhere as he's on the news a lot. I'm not bitter, I've recovered for the most part but I just want to talk to him, to ask him what he was thinking, to let him know that he doesn't need to feel guilty but more importantly to just let him know that I forgive him because i know it's eating him alive knowing that he came within centimeters of killing an 18 year old who at the time was newly engaged and freshly graduated......I don't know what to do because of the lawsuit I know I shouldn't contact him and I know that I should probably hate him after 10 broken bones, internal injuries, DVT, and bilateral PE....im just really battling myself with it. anybody have any ideas on how to cope?
