My ECV experience
Today, I went in for my ECV (external cephalic version), which is meant to flip a breech baby into a head-down position. Apparently this procedure has only a 50% of being effective and unfortunately I was not one of the lucky ones!
They give you this muscle relaxer that is supposed to calm your uterus down (I'm not going to lie, I'm a bit high from it) and then put a ton of jelly on your belly. When they started, it was the WORST pain I've ever felt in my entire life. Her little butt was lifted out of my pelvis and she just would not move sideways to be put head-down.
Now I'm in an extreme amount of pain because of the pressure that was put and I kind of feel like I'm dying. They offered to give me a spinal block and I wish I would have taken it! Maybe it would have made the procedure go better, but who knows?
Anyways, has anyone else gone through this and failed? I'm feeling a bit down, that she didn't turn. Also, any tips with dealing with the pain of your uterus being bruised?
