Abstaining from relationships at 18?

ok so I'm 18 and i don't want any relationships/flings until I at least finish college. Ideally until I save enough money to have my own place. But my older sister thinks that I will change my mind and that the vow I made to myself won't last long. I want to prove her wrong bc I want to be independent bc having boy problems are a distraction. what do you think? is my sister right? is abstaining from boys a smart thing?

I sort of did the same thing. I never actively looked for relationships because I wanted to stay focused on college, getting a job, etc. Then I kind of just met someone I meshed well with and we ended up together. Granted, I waited until my last year of college (out of six) but he was worth it. So, I think it's a great idea but if you happen to develop those feelings for someone take a chance. You never know!

Don't worry about it so much. Go into college with no plans for a relationship but also don't rule it out if you think the right person comes along. College can be the best place to find a significant other through mutual interest that can keep you together

I think you should focus on yourself. Don't hunt for men. Don't even put yourself into the dating game. But also don't push things away just because you decided as a freshman it wasn't good for you. On the other hand, I'm a strong believer in practicing your partner skills. You want to know how to communicate and cooperate before you meet THE ONE, Right? Just saying.
