Relationship help

Whenever I like a guy, I Text them and stuff but whenever I see them at school I almost try to hide from him. And when he comes over(only twice) I like can't talk to him. I guess I try to ignore him. So I dated another person months later and I pushed myself to not be awkward on our first date to see Finding dory. After the movie was amazing. We went window shopping at an outdoor store in the mall. Then he took me home. Our second date was at the fair, and he kept me almost glued to him, which was a bit uncomfortable for me. Then he walked me to my car and kissed me. I felt so weird after so I broke up with him because I told him I didn't want to kiss. Now I look back and realize I overreacted. But why do I try and hide from my boyfriends?
