When do you use wipes while diapering your child?

I've noticed a lot of people don't wipe their children for some, if not all, pee only diapers. Just curious how common this is?

As a nurse I've seen what sitting in pee will do. It'll eat you up. I wipe every diaper change. I mean if I feel the need to wipe myself after pee you can sure bet I'll do the same for my daughter

As a former CNA, PLEASE wipe your babies. Please. Every time. Pee is not sterile, I don't know where the hell that came from, but its now well known that it is NOT sterile. It is your body flushing out any toxins and things like that.
Also, pee burns. Pee your pants and just change your pants and see you feel. I'm serious. If you are that dead set on not wiping your child every time.
And I don't care what your doctor said, they must not remember school very good because it literally says in my medical book to never not wipe someone when changing them, because pee burns, it hurts, it causes rashes, it causes UTIs.
There is study everywhere that says it's not good. Don't be lazy. It's one freaking wipe and maybe 5 or 10 extra seconds.

My understanding is that pee can cause rashes and infections. I wipe for all diapers.

I wipe for all diapers, I think in a pinch I haven't only once or twice. I figure I need to wipe after I go to the bathroom so my daughter should too. She's never had a rash or issue either.

My pediatrician told me not to use wipes except on poop, no baby powder, & sparing use of diaper rash cream only when needed. 11 months in and never had any problems. Too many products are not good for babies sensitive skin.

I think of it this way....would I want to sit in my own pee? Yeah diapers absorb a lot but there's still pee all over their genitals. I wipe every single time. Kiiiinda gross and super unsanitary that people don't.

I wipe even if it's pee, my Ped days their pee is technically sterile but I want to wipe away old diaper cream, dust that was the the diaper, dead skin etc etc. It's like we wipe when we pee, why wouldn't we wipe our kid?!

Might be the same for boys, but i know that not wiping as a female can lead to uti. I have had them all my life, and I wont even use fragrances in body wash, shampoo, or bubbles for my baby because I cant imagine causing her pain like that.

I usually only wipe after poo or a very heavy wet diaper. 10 months old and never had a diaper rash or any sort of issue. But whatever floats your boat.
