Should you and your partner get tested for STDs if you're both virgins?

Forgive my lack of knowledge (that's why I'm turning to you ladies). My bf and I are both virgins (we're not that young, we've both just agreed to wait to go all the way) and have never been intimate with anyone else. We have, however, been increasingly physical, and he's offered to go down on me. Don't get me wrong, I want it, but I want to be safe. Is it necessary for me to get tested first if I've never been with anyone else?

if neither of you havnt had sex with anyone else.. there's not much chance of you catching an std ..... maybe herpes if you've kissed someone else? please make sure you use protection to prevent pregnancy.

Get tested. You could have something dormant like Hepatitis or HIV. It's fine to trust people, but ultimately you're responsible for your own health and protecting yourself and knowing ALL of your statuses.

I've only had one partner my whole life (including first kiss), my boyfriend has only had one partner their whole life (including first kiss) Each other. ..With no cheating. 
My recent doctor visit I was told if that was the case I don't need a yearly STD test since I know 100% sure I am clean. 
If you guys have kissed others or have done other sexual things with others.  i would.
