Convertible car seat opinions!

We were just recently in a car accident so are on the hunt for a new seat sooner than we had anticipated. We were using the Graco Snugride 35 infant seat but are unsure if we want to invest in another infant seat (our daughter is 3 months) or just put the money towards a convertible one. She absolutely hates sitting in the infant seat but we can't tell if it's too deep, too tight or just the fact that she can't see us that she doesn't like. We've looked into the Graco 4Ever seat and the Chicco NextFit but both look huge and we don't know how much space it would take up in our Honda CR-V. I haven't really been able to find one much smaller either so I'm not sure if we would be avoiding the bulkiness with any of them. I'd love to hear your opinions of the convertible seat you have or wish you had chosen. Thanks!
