Negative urine, positive blood test?

Question

Has anyone ever been late on their period but still negative urine tests...but positive pregnancy through a blood test? Was is a successful pregnancy? I'm over 5 weeks late. All hpt negative but got blood drawn at doctor yesterday and awaiting results. Im having some serious anxiety, but i usually have shorter cycles, not long.

My mom could only find out she was pregnant via blood tests.

In order for you to be considered pregnant hcg should be over zero because if there is no baby there is no hcg but a urine test picks up a level between 5-10. So it would be possible.

I had the opposite.  Negative blood positive jrine.  
Did they do a qualitative or a quantitative

My mom got positive urine tests with my sister and I, but got negative urine tests for my brother, she went to the doctor and got a positive blood test, didn't get a positive urine sample until she was two months along.
