Having a hard time
I'm trying to get my two year old ready for headstart next year. He doesn't talk a lot at all, I have bought a few little books, like a first words book that has nothing in it but easy words like ball, or frog, stuff like that. I've also bought a counting book, one with colors, and another with shapes. The issue is he will not listen, he'll sit down with me but as soon as I start trying to teach him the stuff he gets side tracked and doesn't pay attention. I turn off everything in the room that could be distracting and he will still get distracted by something else. I understand he's two and won't just sit there and automatically learn this stuff but my main concern is his talking, he used to say several words and now he won't even say those words anymore, he also knew how to count to five and won't even do that anymore. His doctor at his appointment didn't act concerned but I am, I feel he should be talking a lot more at his age.. I've also been at this for awhile trying to teach him to say a few words and he won't. I'm just having a little bit of a difficult time.
