Vanishing Object Phenomena

I think I'm loosing my mind!! I lost my mail key and have looked everywhere for it and it is no where to be found.

I grabbed the key off the dish where I always keep it so I could check the mail after I ran to CVS really quick. As I was driving to CVS I dropped the key by my feet and after I parked in the CVS parking lot I remember clearly picking the key up and putting it in my purse and thinking to myself "I can't loose this!"

Anyways I bought one item and drove back to my mail box at the apartment complex and opened my purse- no key was in there. I've searching my car multiple times, my husband helped me search too. I went back to the CVS parking lot with my husband and searched the surrounding space where I parked and even went inside and retraced my steps to look for the keys- no where to be found!! This all happened in less than 30 minutes and the only place I went to was CVS where I remember putting the key in my purse!

My mind is going crazy! They have to be somewhere!

I started reading on the internet the phenomenon of disappearing objects is very common. Apparently this happens a lot and people where items seem to vanish into thin air.

Has this happened to you?? My mind is going crazy!
