Walking Question: helping or...?

Hi! So my daughter was born November 2. She started taking steps about a month ago. She can now do 15-20 steps at a time and is now starting to walk to get somewhere even if she falls a few times. My question is when we go somewhere and she's outside or in a store she always reaches up to hold mine or my husband's finger. She's holding on very lightly but she can walk much farther this way. So...is this helping or hurting her walking development? Thanks in advance!
