How long did you pump for?

Question

For those of you who have had actual medically diagnosed shortages of breast milk and have pumped in addition to giving mainly formula, how long did you continue to pump for? 
I only get up to 1 ounce at a time, baby is nearly 4 months
(breastfeeding is mostly not an option at all because I work and baby mostly refuses breast when there is time)

I get the same as you and have had huge issues breastfeeding my son was diagnosed with tongue tie so I got it clipped to breast feed and still have a ton of issues even 5 to 6 weeks after and I got plenty of milk in beginning but it started dying down quickly and I took all kinds of supplements everyday doing everything to increase supply now I pumped and supplement with formula and my son being two months now I'm so fried how much effort and time I've put into making this all work and not having much success I think I'm getting ready to be done and just give formula because I'm simply exhausted and seeing no changes

I pumped using the hospital grade machine for 12 1/2 months. My son refused to latch and I had a hard time with production so I pumped every 2 to 3 hours for 25 minutes at a time the whole time. I had to supplement my breast milk the last few months.
Using the hospital grade machine worked better than my store bought machine and you can write off the rental fees in taxes lol.
I have to say though that I had a hard time my nipples would bleed, blister, milk blister, my skin would just fall off, extremely painful at times, but I made a commitment to my baby to do a year so I dealt with it. I have ring shaped scars around my nipples though lol.
