Bassinet (picture below) or rock n' play used for sleeping at night?

Question

I was gifted a rock n' play and I am confused as to what is safe to use for a newborn to sleep in. And I was also gifted this bassinet but it is a hand me down. Which should I use? I'm guess the bassinet will have to be on the bed between my husband and I.

The rock and Play shouldn't be used for sleeping. They should be on a flat surface and that bassinet looks like it is. We have both- rock and Play just for in the living room and such for short periods of time

We used a Rock N Play for the first couple months and then switched to a flat bassinet once our daughter was a little older. She hated the bassinet when we first tried it our first night home from the hospital, but she grew into it. We then moved the Rock N Play into the living room for naps during the day and if we just needed to put her down for a moment. Started using the crib at about  five months old. You just have to try different things to see what works for your baby! Good luck 🤗

I'd go with the bassinet.   The one you have looks pretty convenient too!

I used a rock n play sleeper. My son loved it cause it vibrated. I would keep both and see what your baby prefers! Every baby is so different so it's great to have options on hand.

that cosleeper is awesome.. especially with firm mattress just don't have huge blankets around you

We used the rock n play during the day for naps and travel. We used a co sleeper bassinet like that and put in between us or moved pillows off bed on my side and put it above my head since I'm so short. But now at 4 months we use a cradle beside the bed and thinking about switching to a pack and play until we move into a bigger house for a crib.

I'd go with the bassinet. The other one is made just for supervised naps during the day

My fiance and i have something similar to this we have an IComfort. My son is only a week old. At first we tried the crib and so far he hasn't liked laying in it much but we tried the IComfort and he sleeps much better in it we just keep it in the middle of us in the bed.
