Too tight?

So for the past weeks, my bf and I have been trying to have sex but he can never put his penis inside me; and hurts when he tries to. Yes we do foreplay and have tried to use lube but still hurts a lot.. Any tips or reccomendations?

I have had this problem with a couple of boyfriends, and found it useful to read up in 'Vaginismus'. It's basically the involuntary tightening of the vaginal muscles, which might be linked to a variety of reasons; it could be just nerves, a need to 'warm up' a bit more, or anxiety about something else entirely.
I found that relaxing more before sex, maybe a couple of glasses of wine, relaxed making out etc helped, and once I'd crossed that barrier with a guy it didn' affect us again as a couple (because vaginismus is usually psychological).

It will hurt at first, I think the pain is just one of those things you have to get through until there's no pain anymore. It might hurt for two minutes max, and then start to feel good. I used a dildo with him at first to loosen me up which helped loads
