Choosing a doula

Hi fellow natural mamas!

I was so happy to find this thread. I am 30 weeks pregnant and looking for a doula. I plan to give birth at a birthing center- no epidural. I will start hypnobirthing classes next month. I am considering a doula with experience in massage as well as hypnobirthing. Are both necessary? Can anyone share their experience with pain management? I am in NYC and prices range from $1200 to $2200. I am trying to spend as little as possible but I also want my birth experience to be as pleasant as possible.
