Is it safe?

So me and my boyfriend had unprotected sex 2 days ago. I was taking my pill at the time and had been since my last period ended. He came inside me which he's never done before. I was due my period on that day but decided to take my pill instead as I knew I'd be having sex. I don't want to skip the placebo pills as I don't want my cycle to mess up but I've heard that sperm can live up to 5 days so should I wait 5 days and then stop taking my pill so I can let my period start or should I just stop taking them now for 7 days?
