when did you have your first ultrasound?

my doctor recommended to wait until 8 weeks. that's 2 weeks away lol I'm going to flip waiting, can you please share your experiences? thank you!!

I got my first when I was 12 wks .. and that was by emergency . they never booked me my first ultrasound because I wasn't in any danger.. though I would of loved to see him before :) . now 33 weeks and should be having one fairly soon hopefully ?

Mine was a dating scan at 6w, then my nuchal at 12w with a blood test to check for trisomy/downs chances and an anatomy at 20w.

I had one at 5 weeks & one at 6. This is just because my doctor thought I was father along than I indicated so the first she was trying to get an accurate measurement. They couldn't see anything except a sac & guessed I was 4 weeks 2 days or so & then did the blood tests. My levels were really high so she thought maybe the ultrasound was off & she was right about me being further along. I went back 4 days after the first & i was measured at 6 weeks 3 days. My next ultrasound was at 10 weeks 1 day & I haven't had another one since (I'm 16 weeks now, I go back at 18 weeks for the ultrasound that reveals the gender 😊)

I know it’s hard to wait but it’s worth it! I got my first scan close to 9 weeks with my son and with this pregnancy I went in at 7 weeks exactly and it scared me half to death because the heart beat wasn’t very clear. Little did I know that’s completely normal and some babies hearts don’t work until 7/8 weeks anyways. But it scared me into thinking I was miscarrying! It’s definitely worth waiting :)

I will be 12 weeks and 2 days when I receive my first ultrasound... just have to wait 9 more days! I thought it was sooo long to wait when I made the appt at 5 weeks but the time has gone by faster than I expected.

I had my first ultrasound at 9w6d. I got a clear heartbeat and pretty pics and everything.  it's worth the wait.  sometimes if they do it too early they don't get as good a visual and not a good heartbeat if at all.  and that'll make you worry.  I go in the 16th to get my blood gender test done then I gotta wait 2 weeks AFTER that.  so I know how much the waits suck lol

The clinic I went to doesn't do any ultrasounds until after 8 weeks. Most drs, unless you're high risk, don't schedule ultrasounds til closer to 10-12ish weeks from what I've seen here and some even as far as 18-22 weeks.
