Should I call the dr again?

Ok my little button is 6 weeks old with an umbilical hernia. He went to a dr about a week ago who suggested that we leave it as they are commonly seen and usually close up on their own as baby gets older.

The dr also suggested that if by his 2m appt it’s still of concern they will refer me to a pediatric surgeon to make a decision.

Well I’ve been covering it with a bandaid bc it seems to not be healing and there is some discharge. It doesn’t look to be getting any better either.

Should I wait til the 16th of oct or take him again now.

**UPDATE**

Took baby to his ped and she called in a more experienced dr (although her diagnosis was correct) and it’s an umbilical granuloma. The dr clipped it so it won’t keep bleeding and put silver nitrate on it. It looks great.
