If you hand your baby to someone that he/she hasn't met before, what is your baby's reaction?

My son is 8 and a half months and he doesn't seem to mind if anyone holds him. I'm glad he's happy, but shouldn't he have stranger anxiety by now? Shouldn't he prefer his mommy over strangers? Lol

It depends on his mood and who they are. It’s very hit or miss. Sometimes he’s totally content, sometimes he cries, sometimes he just puts his arms out to go back to me. It’s totally unpredictable. 🤷🏻‍♀️

My daughter cries! And she doesn't stop until mom or dad take her again. I feel so bad because all anyone wants to do is hold her. 😣

crying/screaming to anyone besides me. her dad is finally on her "okay" list but I can't just hand her off. it's a whole ordeal for her. she doesn't even like when I let her go at the doctor. she cries the second her body hits that stupid paper. but to be honest, I love being her rock.

My daughter doesn't mind going to strangers but she's definitely not smiley in their arms. If she's with people she knows, she's very smiley and playful but with strangers she doesn't act like her normal smiley self

Both of my kids are super friendly. Neither one has ever cried by being held by a stranger. My oldest is 18 months and recently she has reeached a new level where she will walk up to a random person and ask to be picked up. I 100% discourage this behavior and even mentioned it to her doctor and even though he was surprised, he didn't seem worried. He said that kids that go to daycares and have never had a negative experience and sometimes act this way. We do go to the gym where they have a daycare every day. He basically said that she has lived a very "sheltered" life and so has never had a reason to be afraid of strangers.

She pushes as far back as she can and stares at them with an open mouth.  Then after a minute she tries to put something of theirs in her mouth...could be clothes or could be a finger.
