TMI : Help!

A year ago I started having irregular + spotty periods. Today, I got this. It is a lot heavier than normal. I almost feel like I'm just wiping away blood. Almost don't feel like a period to me. I feel like I'm just bleeding away. I do get small cramp like pains here and there. My question is, is this normal and do I need to be worried?
