Costumes for Halloween Party??

I need advice. I’ve never dressed up for Halloween (my mom forbid us lmao) and I am supposed to be going to my boyfriends friends parties. I want to make a good impression, but I have ZERO clue when it comes to costumes. They’re all in their mid-20s, while I’m only 19. So I really want to make a good impression and not go completely slutty or lame lmao. Any ideas or DIYs would be appreciated ☺️😋
