Cautious baby?

I have an 11 month who doesn't walk yet. I feel like he is super scared to, He won't walk holding on to things (like the couch or using his walker). He can stand on his own with no support, but he won't. He knows how to use his push walker and walk with it, but he won't. Rarely I can get him to do it. If he is standing up holding on to something he slowly and gently lets himself down. When I try to get him to stand on his own he cries and turns himself around and grabs a hold of me. I don't want to push him, but anyone else have a cautious baby?

Do you ever act scared or worried when he falls? We found that ours always looked for our reaction first! 
You can try setting up two people on the floor and encouraging LO to take a step between you! Like crazy over excited clapping! That was how ours learned at 8.5 mths, and it’s taken her 2 mths to ‘big girl walk’ do steps etc. 11 months is still early to walk!

That’s totally normal. They know better than we do when they’re ready to start walking, and many don’t start until after their first birthday. We don’t think about it, but it involves so much coordination—they have to balance and be able to use the right muscles at the right time—that’s a lot of hard work. And if I was in their position, I’d be in no hurry to walk either, one wrong move and you’re face-first into something hard and painful. Just sit back and let it happen. Clap for him when he does it but don’t get frustrated when he doesn’t.

I'd stop forcing him to and stop putting him in the walker... let him do it on his own in his own time. 11 months isn't late for walking.

I personally don't (LO is only 2 months). But a friend of our's little boy was the funniest thing. At a little over a year he would not walk without someone holding his hands, even if it was just your fingers. He would take off- but as soon as you slipped your finger out of his hand he would drop to the ground like a brick. They slowly acclimated him to hands only, then fingers, then one finger, then one finger in one hand, and eventually when he was ready he didn't even notice anymore. In time momma! in time!
