Lip tie ? I don't know ? Please help

So I think my son has what's it called a lip tie .. he about to turn 2 and honestly I just recently found out about those things .. no one ever told me about a lip tie .. what could happen if I never took him to get it cut ? He never had a problem eating or breastfeeding when he breastfeed .. should I take him ? Does it hurt them ? Advice please because I also have a baby girl who's three months that I think might have it too but I don't want her to feel pain you know what I mean 😔🤔
