Do you care what homeless people spend the money you gave them on?

Based on the “do you give to homeless people?” poll.

Do you care if the homeless person you just gave $10 to uses it to buy alcohol or drugs?

Do you only give food because you’re worried they’re going to spend it on something like that?

In my opinion, those are people that don’t have a warm, safe home to go back to. If they want to spend the money I give them on alcohol or drugs, who am I, someone with a family that loves me, a secure home, access to education, clean water and food, to judge?

Once I give someone money it’s not my place to tell them how to spend it. I’m not their mother, let them have whatever comfort they can get.
