listeria?

Okay so if i eat something with out washing my hands first and i use my hands to eat could i get listeria? I made myself an egg sandwich and i washed my hands after cracking the eggs but then i touched the spatula and the box and then i ate my sandwich with out washing my hands! could i get listeria?

1 in 20,000 eggs are estimated to carry salmonella and listeria is even lower. Plus you probably didn’t eat any raw egg and even if you did it’s that minimal I’m sure the bacteria destroying enzyme in your salvia would of killed it. :)

As a general rule just wash your hands after handling raw eggs, meat etc. if you can wash your hands before you eat you should as it can cut down on germs in general. But if you aren't touching raw stuff and then eating you're fine
