Heavy bleeding after sex

I'm 15 weeks pregnant. I've been having spotting throughout my pregnancy particularly when I go toilet. It always goes away. I had a scan 2 days ago and baby was happy and healthy and they couldn't find a source of bleeding. Fast forward to tonight, I had sex against my better instinct (something told me don't do it because you are spotting) and low and behold I have woken up a few hours later with heavy bleeding, this is the most blood I've seen my entire pregnancy. Reminds me of a period when I wipe. Bright red and some small clots. I'm so scared but trying not to panic. I am experiencing pain in my tailbone but in all fairness I was feeling it just before we had sex. Should I be rushing to the ER or wait it out to see if blood stops? Anyone else experience this?
