Frequent UTIs?

So up until a year ago I had never gotten a UTI, but over the past year I've now gotten three. I cannot for the life of me figure out why. I haven't changed my cleaning habits, we aren't doing anything differently sex-wise.. what else is there? Am I just getting older and therefore my immune system is failing me? I always pee after sex. I just don't know. I can't afford to keep going to the doctor, plus antibiotics tear. me. up. Any thoughts?

Try drinking half your weight in ounces of water. I have been prone to Utis my whole life (still don't know why. I only use one brand of toilet paper and follow my doctors instructions for keeping my area clean...I even make sure to pee immediately after sex) and making sure I drink plenty of water has helped prevent them for the past few years. Up until I took a workout class, that required us to drink half our body weight in ounces, I had utis almost every other month. So for example say someone weighs 120 pounds then they should drink 60 ounces of water. I'm not a doctor and I cannot guarantee this will work for you but it has helped me tremendously!!
