Could you only say yes to your kids for a week?

There is a buzzfeed video going around called "I Only Said “Yes” To My Kids For A Week"
   
It's pretty fascinating parenting. What are your thoughts?

Using the same rules as that video, yes. She does say no when it comes to things like hygiene and health (i.e., no eating only cookies all day, brush your teeth twice a day, no you can't hit your brother, etc). But after watching that video, it made me open my eyes to how many things I say no to out of selfish convenience.

I follow a mom on instagram who parents this way... "say yes" I think it's more about embracing childhood... making memories by letting your kids do the things that are super fun but maybe messy, inconvenient or something you wouldn't wanna mention at the PTA meeting... but I think it's good for us to let loose once in awhile. When I was a kid my "say yes" thing was to do my dad's hair. Hah. I seriously laugh out loud now thinking about it but he'd only let me do it once in awhile as he watched tv, I'd get a spray bottle, a comb and sometimes my hair elastics and give him different hair styles like Mohawk, pig tails, etc. I LOVED it! And trust me when I say my dad was NOT the type to do this, he was the disciplinarian, very serious guy lol so it was pretty sweet.

Pretty sure I saw the same video, I don’t have any kids (yet) to base my answer off of, but I can say now that me and my siblings would take advantage of the situation to a whole nother level if my mom was only saying yes, but in the video I’m pretty sure she says the kids have no idea about her only saying yes, because she knows they’d go crazy with it too. But honestly it seems like a good bonding experience too, a lot of times parents will say no without giving anything a chance, saying yes will probably help them explore and experience new things together.

My kids don’t want normal kid things. I’d be setting myself up for bankruptcy 😂😂
My oldest (8) asked me to get everyone an iPad (hell no)
My second oldest (7) asked for everyone to have a dog like huskies and pit bulls etc (not yet we can’t)
My youngest (3) asked for three baby sisters. We talking real babies here (ain’t nobody got time for that I’m pregnant with one)
They all ask to move back to Texas from California and then to go visit Florida and go to Disney and then go to knotts berry farm.
They don’t know what they want 😂😂
So if I said yes I’d be broke as hell!!

I just watched this video, it looks like a great way for kids to learn that their views and wants are important to us. I want my boy to know he can always speak to us, always ask us anything. As per the video, not everything can be said yes to, but they look like they had some great experiences through trying this.
