How often do you feed your 6 week old baby at night?

I'm just wondering if it's okay to go 4 or 5 hours at night if baby will sleep that long instead of waking him up. He's 6 weeks old.
Assuming your baby is healthy, etc, what does your nightly schedule look like?

I heard that once they're past birth wait you can let them sleep and then wake you up to eat at night. I've been doing that with my three week old, and it usually ends up being between 3-5 hours.

Doctor told me to feed my baby whenever she wakes up since she’s past her birth weight and she’s 5 weeks. She goes 5-6 hours at night which has been amazing 😍

If he’s growing/gaining weight fine and your doctor has no concerns, let him sleep.  Every baby is different - my first woke up every 2-3 hours for the first six or so months to eat, my second was sleeping through the night (5-6 hours) by the time he was four weeks old, and my third who is 3w4d has had a few nights already of sleeping 4+ hour stretches.  Take advantage of that extra time to get sleep yourself while you can - before you know it he will be going through a growth spurt or teething and you’ll be up every 2-3 hours again!  If you have concerns that he’s not eating enough I would talk to your doctor.

My daughter will do a 5-7 hour stretch most nights. She eats more frequently during the evening, I think to prepare for a longer stretch at night. She's a month old.

We're at 3 weeks and past birth weight so doctor said to let her sleep as long as she wants and still feed on demand.
I set an alarm to not let her go past 5 hours, but that's just me being worried since she's still so small!

Sorry to post a question on a question page. What should I do if my LO is back up to her birth weight at 1 week? (8lb5oz) She only lost 2% in the hospital, little nursing champ. I've been waking her at night about every 2 hours (sometimes she'll wake up on her own). Should I stretch this a bit or keep it this often since she's still so young?

I let my baby sleep after he showed definite weight gain (2weeks visit).  My mom said she never woke us up at night... but that was back then... 1970s/80s
