Braids on white women?

So I'm mixed, Mexican/American. People always think I'm Italian though.. I really wanna get my hair braided but I feel like people will say I'm too white for it. I just love African American culture and my friends the one who told me I should do it. I just don't want back lash. What do you guys think

Cultural appropriation is when someone is selective about the elements of a culture they "want". So if you were white and listened to rap and had braids but were hateful towards POC. Then it would be wrong. But as long as you are respectful it shouldn't be an issue

It's just hair. HAIR. As long as you're not shaving hate speech into your hair line, do whatever you want with it. I plan on getting dreadlocks some day even though I'm white as hell.
