Tattoo: worth it or not?

I’m 19 and I live with my parents. They’re really chill and open but they’re quite iffy about tattoos. It’s not that they’re completely against them, just think they’re useless and stupid, and I know that they wouldn’t want me to get a proper tattoo although they didn’t care when I decided to get my brows tattooed, I paid it myself.
I’ve been wanting to get a tattoo for my dog for over a year, I love him to death and it’s just something I want to do for him. If I do get it done, will be something tiny-small and minimalistic, so won’t be that noticeable and I would also get it done somewhere my parents can’t see it. But then I keep thinking about when I change my clothes or take baths and my mum walks in lol 🤷🏻‍♀️ So my question is do you think I should get it done (not right now, but in a while) or should I wait until I’ll be able to move out? I’ll probably not move out before I finish college and uni so that will be quite a while 😂

Get it whenever you're ready to pay for it. Also, lock the door when changing and bathing, nobody should barge in on you.

Get it whenever you can afford it. 
One of the things non-tattooed people complain about the most is how much tattoos cost and how it's "a waste of money". But frankly, a new car costs thousands of dollars and will only last 15, MAYBE 20 years. Whereas tattoos have to last for literally your entire life. 
It's worth it.

When i got my first tattoos(3), my mom didn't noticed for nothing, after a month an a half I just wanted her to know so I started walking in front of her with them clearly visible to make her notice, turns out she saw them 3 days in and didn't gave a shyt lol 😂

If youre paying for it and the money isnt supposed to be for something else then go for it. What can they really do?

Even though it's for your dog (making you less likely to regret it) I'd look into different artists work in your area and really think about exactly what type of tattoo you want. E.g. Paw prints, name, silhouette and positioning in detail before going ahead with it.
FYI I don't think it's any riskier for you to get than anyone else out there. This is just my generic tattoo advice.

My aunt made the biggest thing about tattoos being ugly and ranting about "how can you do that, your body is a temple blah blah" BS. My cousin(her son) went on his 18th birthday and got a whole tribal done on his arm without her consent and she about lost it when he got home lmao. He has a whole sleeve done now and sonce that first tattoo, all of a sudden she calls it art and now approves lol. I say just do it. she tried bad talking me for my tattoos cause I was young when I got my first one done(16) but my parents were there and it was a symbolic tattoo butterfly that's a little smaller than fist size. anyways my point is, even with their blessing, there will always be someone to critic you and you should be allowed to do what you want to your body, especially now that your an adult.

It's your body, but you should pay for it, make sure it's easy to hide, and not get something potentially offensive. Or if you want a big one, save up and get it as a moving away present.
