Any trucker wives out there?

Question

My husband just recently left to get his CDL and I’m looking to get into on what kind of life to expect. Obviously I know he wont be home often. But to you ladies out there is it worth it? How much does your SO get paid if you don’t mind me asking & what company as well.

My husband is leaving to Job Corps , to become a correction officer, he leaves in 2-3 weeks , I wasn't ready for that & I started crying like a little baby... tbh it's going to be really lonely for the next year... I'm already missing him .

This is my experience : My husband was a truck driver for almost 3 years. It was tough for the both of us. Super lonely. I hated being home alone. At first id call him everyday and talk for a few hours throughout the day  But aftr a few weeks you just didnt find anything to talk about but I made the effort to always reach out to him because just like i was alone at home and feeling lonely, he was also homesick. He wld be gone Monday-Friday and always tired on the weekends from having to drive long hours. We had many good days but once in a while the frustration of being away sometimes got to us. We both just had to be understanding. We had a goal for him truck driving. Wanted to save up money for a home and IVF. But i actually started to notice he was kinda getting depressed and just not the same I knew it was time for him to stop and actually pushed him to go back to his old job that although didn’t bring in as much money as truck driving did it was still a good job. His sanity and happiness definitely is a priority over money. Truck driving can sometimes be tough on a marriage but through good times and bad times we make it work no matter what.
