formula question

so my son is 4 months old and up until he was maybe 3 1/2 months he was a very cranky baby. I decided to try the soothe he has been on that for like 2 months now. we he's not so cranky and doing better and I don't feel like it worked anyways. my question is since he's a lot better should I switch back to the formula he was on before or keep using the soothe. I figure ifnit has that extra stuff that helps with colic and stuff that since he's not like that he don't need it but I don't want to switch if he should just stay on it.
