Where is best to put a rear facing car seat?

Sorry if this seems like a silly question but I have been told different things by different people, including car seat companies. As a first time mum-to-be, I just want to make sure I do whats best!

You can always go to your local police department or somewhere that has a CPS technician (child passenger safety) and they can show you how to properly install your car seat for you.

Never in the front. You’ll hear things about back middle vs back side. Wherever you get the best and safest install is the best place. Check out the car seats for littles Facebook group. Tons of car seat information. Very helpful.

As far as where in the back seat to put it, I asked my friend why she chose the passenger side and her reasoning was that it needs to be a certain amount of inches away from the back of the seats in front. Her hubby is super tall and needs the seat to be far distance from the steering wheel. Both hubby and I are short and keep the seat pretty close to the steering wheel so I’ll probably put my car seat behind the drivers side so I can get out and get baby easier
