Why did/will you not have drugs during delivery?

I'm a firm believer in not having to suffer, if modern medicine has a answer to the pain, so I delivered with an epidural. But I just wanted to hear from other mommas on their choices.

I coulda kissed the anesthesiologist  When he came in with the cart for the epidural 😂 I heard the lady screaming in pain in the next room, I guess she needed her epidural too but I asked for it first so she had to wait 😮

I am not sure what will happen when I deliver but I was to try unmedicated. I want to experience everything and I know there is a light at the end. I have a high pain tolerance and want my body to do what it is made to do.

My platelets were getting so close to the no epidural zone. I was like there's no effing way I'm having a baby without one. Luckily they were just high enough. The only reason I wouldn't have gotten one was if it wasn't my choice.

Had a failed epidural with my son it was given too late never took i did a no pain relief induction with my daughter and it went really smooth

I used gas and air second time around. First time I had an epidural and didn’t like the recovery from it. My back still plays up some days and I also liked the feeling of my body taking over and delivering baby. It was an amazing feeling. That being said though I wanted the epidural when I found out I was only 5 cm dilated but baby was delivered in 6mins from finding out so I didn’t have time for it. This time I’m hoping to push through without needing to ask for pain relief but who knows 🤷🏻‍♀️ every delivery is different

I'm opting out, because the healing afterwards is said to be easier, and it helps to be able to feel things as they're happening so you understand what's going on and when to push. Also that natural high afterwards and all.
Plus they say childbirth can only be compared to kidney stones and breaking a hip- I've been through both. Pain is temporary, I'm not worried.

I’m going to see how I cope before I decide on drugs. I’m hoping to cope on gas and air and the birthing pool. But if not I’ll go for something stronger.
I want to avoid an epidural! Don’t like the idea of not being able to walk round or go for a wee by myself!

I had an epidural with my first & my last pregnancy i was forced not to have an epidual & omg this time.. bring on the drugs!!

I would steer clear from meds while in labour if possible like morphine, 9 times out of 10 babies are very slow to get going with IV med deliveries.
Epidurals have zero effect on baby, mom could just be signing up for some side effects. 
I say get as far as you can drug free and then get the epidural if you can't take anymore lol.

I wanted my body to do what it was made to do... I had a failed epi with my son... I also didn’t want to be confined to the bed.. to each its own.. it was easy especially with the pitocin but I’d totally do a no medicated birth again...
