No periods. Not ovulating?

I had my son in April 2016 So I quit taking my birth control pills in April 2017 in hopes of getting pregnant with baby number 2 and I had a period but I have not had one on my own since. I’ve had 2 periods since then but only bc I was put on provera. My doctor wants me to try to track my ovulation so I’m using the clear blue tests and I’m on my 5th day of the blinking face. I’m starting to get really discouraged. My doctor also put me on metformin in hopes that will help me ovulate and start my periods again as well. Does anyone have any similar experiences or words of encouragement?
