Do gynecologists care if you shave and about smell down there?

Very nervous about my first gyno visit. Hopefully I get an iud in today. I don’t know what to expect and I don’t want to be judged. Any advice before I leave for my appointment?

My dad is an ob/gyn and he has seen it all,!from the bedazzled to the has-not-showered-in-weeks. Hair will never be an issue, so don't feel the need to shave but it is nice when the patient has showered.

Shower beforehand as a common courtesy, shaving is something they don’t care about.

Hair grows there. A medical professional will not judge you for hair that is natural and supposed to be there. If you don’t shave don’t shave for this. Shower the day of just so you know your fresh.

shower and keep it clean. they dont care about hair. they aren't your s.o so it doesnt matter if it looks groomed. just make sure you are clean and dont smell

I shaved before my first gyno visit. But I'm going through fertility treatments no, 5 months later, and had to have a surprise vaginal ultrasound. I didn't find out it was internal until I was lying on the table. I had a MASSIVE, full bush, as in Haven't Shaved In Months and the lady didn't even bat an eye. They're used to it. Do whatever makes you most comfortable

i would tidy up if i were you but i am sure they have seen it all before.

I'm sure they will still do their job, but some things are just common courtesy, not some much the shaving but most certainly the cleaning part.
